OUR STORY
Indie House was founded on a passion for design and a desire to share unique and handmade artisan goods with everyone. Located in the East Village of downtown Des Moines, we are a home furnishings and lifestyle boutique that offers a mix of curated goods and interior design services.
High quality, clean lines, rich woods. Indie House’s selection is for those who love a little mid-century modern with a mix between contemporary, vintage, architectural and organic. Who says your home can’t be a mixed bag?

Our customers get a unique experience. Whether you’re looking for accessories, the final touches for your home or full interior design services, you can find it at Indie House.
Everything in the store was handpicked to inspire your design journey. We work with artists and makers from right here in Des Moines to all over the world, giving you options that aren’t in your typical box store. But it’s so much more than what’s in our retail space. You can look through thousands of furnishings, rugs, art and lighting at our browsing station to inspire and create your new look. And you get options that are available only to the interior design industry.

Absolutely! You can stop in or purchase online without our design services involved. The retail side and design side can operate separately or together, depending on what you are needing.

Yes! We have a handful of projects we have completed across the nation. We are excited about continuing to expand our services and will meet you (virtually or in person) wherever you are at.

We ship anywhere in the US.
For freight deliveries, our team arranges freight carriers and will oversee the process of your delivery to ensure your piece arrives as seamlessly as possible.
Ship times are reliable, but it is possible for ship times to be further pushed back

We start with an initial consultation, either in-home, at our studio, or virtually. After that designs will be presented in rounds. Each project is unique and will have its own timeline. We are eager to work with you where you are at.

We can work with your contractor or provide you with a third-party contractor. We facilitate design decisions and always work with a contractor on renovation projects to ensure quality structural integrity from start-to-finish.
